             BEWARE OF COVETOUSNESS

The bible said—“And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.” Luke:12:15

Beloved the big sin of man is greed or covetousness. This is the big sin of the world — desiring more and more. However, a man’s happiness and comfort, soul and body do not depend upon what he has; many poor people are happy and comfortable with healthy souls and bodies. Please life does not consist in possessions — a beautiful home, the latest clothes, a new car, property, money, wealth.

Beloved the charge of Jesus Christ was very strong, “watch out”, “ be on your guard”. Please the warning was to be given close attention and because of the seriousness of the warning “beware”, Jesus used the parable of the Rich Fool to explain it, for us not to fall into the big sin of covetousness. Please read Luke 12:13-21 for more understanding.

Beloved please note that King David of Israel fell in this big sin of covetousness and was punished by God for sinning against God.

The bible said—“And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul; 8. And I gave thee thy master’s house, and thy master’s wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things. 9. Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon. 10. Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.” 2nd Samuel:12:7-10

Please read 2nd Samuel chapters 11 and 12 for more understanding of King David’s sin and punishment.

Beloved Please Prophet Nathan used a beautiful story to explain to King David the sin he has committed before God by refusing to show love and mercy to the poor and needy even when God has blessed him and his family abundantly. Please this is what is happening all over the world most especially in Africa where few individuals have coveted the wealth of their nation at the detriment of the poor and needy of their country. The poor and needy Africans are suffering and dying everyday because of greedy government officials that are desiring more and more at the expense of others. Please most people are living in abundance today while their poor and needy neighbour is suffering and dying because of lack of good things of life and that is why the rich man who refused to take care of Lazarus the poor beggar who was constantly at his gate, ended up in Hell Fire.

The bible said—“And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23. And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.” Luke:16:22-23. Please read Luke 16:19-31

Beloved please the tithe we give in the church is a command from God and also the disbursement of tithe is a command from God.

The bible said—“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” Malachi:3:10

“Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe.” Numbers:18:26

The bible said—“And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.” Deuteronomy:14:29

“When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the year of tithing, and hast given it unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled; 13. Then thou shalt say before the LORD thy God, I have brought away the hallowed things out of mine house, and also have given them unto the Levite, and unto the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all thy commandments which thou hast commanded me: I have not transgressed thy commandments, neither have I forgotten them.” Deuteronomy:26:12-13

Beloved please the tithes are meant for the Pastors including the bishops and the general overseers. The tithes are for the fatherless and the widow in the church and outside the church that are unbelievers. And also the tithes are for the strangers. God our Heavenly Father has commanded that the tithes are for these set of people in the church and outside the church but the bishops and the general overseers are using tithes and offering to live extravagant life and a prodigal life while the poor and needy all over the world are helpless and suffering and crying for help and no one cares to give a helping hand when we are the world that are supposed to show love and mercy to the poor and needy of the world. Please remember that the man created in the image and after the likeness of God is your brother that deserves the good things of life. COVETOUSNESS! THE BIG SIN OF THE WORLD! BEWARE!!!

Beloved please look at what Jesus is telling us in his parable — The man was blessed materially, tremendously blessed, but he refused to give thanks to God for his blessing. The man thought only of self, of living at ease and in comfort, of indulging self and being as extravagant as he wished. He gave no thought helping others. He forgot that he lived in a needy world that was lost and dying. GREED—COVETOUSNESS== Please it is greediness, desiring for more, a dissatisfaction with what is enough. It is craving for both material things and fleshly indulgence. It is desiring what belongs to others; a love of having, a cry of give me, give me. Please it is a lust so deep within a man that he finds his happiness in things instead of in God. Please God is love so we should live in God and God in us. Let Jesus be in your life continually.

The bible said—“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” Matthew:6:24

“Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.” Proverbs:21:13

“He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.” Proverbs:28:27

Please the election battle has been fought and winners and losers have emerged wherefore the Election Tribunal has confirmed the victory of the APC and Senator Tinubu as the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria. However, the Judgement of God is the great and true judgement because Power belong to God.

Beloved please remember that the Former Vice President of Nigeria, H. E. Atiku Abubakar is an elder statesman and a great leader in Nigeria that we ought to give him his due respect no matter the circumstance. Therefore, the APC Executives including the Vice President Shettima have committed great Sin before God Almighty through their ridicule and jesting with the person and personality of the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in their conversation after the Tribunal Judgement at 10:30pm of 6th September 2023. Please remember that the former Senate President H. E. Okadigbo insulted the former President of Nigeria H. E. Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe and he paid dearly for it. And also the former Governor of East Central State of Nigeria H. E. Ukpabia Asika insulted the former President of Nigeria H. E. Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe and he paid dearly for it. Please No Sinner Shall Go Unpunished!
